FreeRanger
FreeRanger is an Electronic Field Guide, implemented as a Java2 Mobile Applet, so it can be carried in a smart phone or PDA, and used to identify wildlife, minerals, or anything else for which a paper field guide might normally be used.
The current status is pre-alpha.
